Frequently asked questions

What is Oxford Saïd Giving Day?

Giving Day is an annual 36-hour fundraising marathon where our community comes together to celebrate and support the individuals that make Oxford Saïd special. 28 June 2022 is Oxford Saïd’s fourth Giving Day.

What makes a Giving Day different from any other day?

Participation is crucial on Giving Day and gifts of every size have a huge impact on the School. Giving Day is the one day of the year where your gift can go even further too, thanks to the generosity of our match funders. Gifts over £125, or recurring gifts of at least £10 per month, will also be recognised on the Giving Day Roll of Honour and all gifts (unless you choose to remain anonymous) will appear on the Donor Wall.

What does Giving Day raise money for?

Giving Day 2022 will be raising unrestricted funds. Unrestricted funds support the School’s core priorities, help provide student support, improve student experience via extra-curriculars, and crucially fund scholarships. With the help of our community, Giving Day 2022 is supporting the Rewley Scholarship which allows Oxford Saïd to attract the brightest and best candidates.

How do I get involved?

Spread the word! Ahead of Oxford Saïd Giving Day you can become an ambassador and help us spread the word through your networks. Email development.office@sbs.ox.ac.uk to sign up.

Donate! Help build momentum by donating early or give at any point over the 36 hours during Oxford Saïd Giving Day. Make sure you share that you’ve donated too by joining the conversation on social media using #SBSGivingDay

How can I give tax-efficiently from the US?

We can count donations made via our North American Office (https://www.oxfordna.org/giving/how-to-give) in the Giving Day totals. Use the drop-down menu to find Saïd Business School and specify in the textbox that you wish your donation to go towards Giving Day.

Email development.office@sbs.ox.ac.uk to let us know that you have made the donation and the amount, and the team can manually add your donation to the total and add you to the Donor Wall during working hours.

How do I know my donation is secure?

Saïd Business School uses an offsite payment processor called “Stripe” to process credit card donations. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

Why is my payment not going through?

Please check that you have included all the required details. If there is still a problem, contact us at development.office@sbs.ox.ac.uk. You may need to contact your card provider to inform them that the payment is valid.
